Lee Yong-rok, Professor of Chemical Engineering, was selected in the ‘Excellent Achievements in the 2014 Ministry of Education Academic Research Support Projects’ and received a medal from the Minister of Education on November 10th. His ‘research on directly reacting cyclic ether, ether and alcohol under transition metal catalyst with phenol to generate carbon-carbon combination’ is recognized as an innovative synthesis technique and published in the 2014 14-15 issues of <Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis> which has international authority in the field of applied chemistry. This thesis was supported by the Ministry of Education last year.
Also three of his recent theses were selected as cover thesis for internationally acclaimed academic science journals throughout the year. ‘Construction of Multifunctionalized Azopyrazoles by Silver Catalyzed Cas-cade Reaction of Diazo Compounds’ published by Lee Yong-rok was selected for the front cover and VIP thesis of the August issue of <Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis> which has international authority in the field of applied chemistry.
Recently, he developed a new organic synthesis method which has high utilization on new medicine development and it has been published by <Chemical Science> online, which has the highest authority in the chemical field.
